Special Exhibition “INSECT”
“INSECT” is the first special exhibition held by the National Museum of Nature and Science with the theme of insects, and is aimed at introducing their multifarious body structures, abilities or behaviors, not only with the museum’s own specimens and knowledge, but also with the aid of computer graphics and sensory exhibits to dynamically illustrate their charm. The exhibition also introduces cutting edge research of insects that utilizes machines like electron microscopes and CT scans, and touches upon the ways this research has contributed to many aspects of our contemporary life. At the same time, based on the fact that “catching insects, which we are all familiar with, is the very first step of entomological research, it includes detailed explanations of how to collect insects and make specimens appropriately.
