Introduction

Myanmar is one of the most under-collected regions in Continental Southeast Asia, although it embraces rich floral and faunal diversity from the mangrove forests and coral reefs of the Andaman Islands in the south, to the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kakaboradzi (5,881 m) in the north, the highest mountain in Southeast Asia.

This database contains the records of specimens collected from Myanmar (Burma) deposited in herbaria of National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo (TNS), the University of Tokyo (TI) and Forest Research Institute (RAF), Forest Department for contribution to the knowledge on the Flora of Myanmar.

The National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo (Japan) and Forest Department, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (Myanmar), have been carrying out the inventory project. This database also includes recent those collections, and will be updated regularly.
