Opening Ceremony and Press Preview Held for the Special Exhibition "Ice Age"
The Special Exhibition "Ice Age" opened on July 12th.
Prior to the public opening, we held an Opening Ceremony and Press Preview on July 11th. It was the first time in a while that we were able to hold the opening ceremony, which had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we were delighted that many of our supporting members attended this time as well.
Many attendees participated in the ceremony and then moved on to the preview. It was a great pleasure to see so many guests taking photos and carefully reading the explanatory panels, imagining and enjoying the world of the 40,000-year-old Ice Age, its people, and its animals.
The Special Exhibition "Ice Age" runs until October 13th.
The exhibition features several highlights, including displays that allow you to compare animals that survived harsh environments using sets of skeletal specimens and life-size reconstructions, as well as the extremely valuable exhibition of the actual
skulls of Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons, being shown for the first time in Japan.
As the exhibition includes the summer vacation period, crowding is expected, but we sincerely hope you will take the opportunity to visit.
