The actual re-entry capsule from the asteroid explorer Hayabusa will be added to the permanent exhibition in the “Japanese Space Development” corner on the second floor of the Earth Hall.

Material Information
The actual capsule that returned samples from asteroid Itokawa to Earth on June 13, 2010. It consists of five parts: the front heat shield, rear heat shield, instrument module, onboard electronics section, and parachute. The scorched surface of the heat shield from atmospheric reentry is clearly visible.
