Disabled persons may be accompanied by support dogs (guide dogs for the blind, service dogs, hearing assistance dogs) when visiting the Museum.

Nursing station

A nursing station for nursing mothers is located on the floor B1 of the Japan Gallery, behind the Lounge.

Baby bed (diaper-changing table)

Baby beds are found on each floor of the Global Gallery, in the ladies' and disabled-persons' washrooms; and on floor B1 of the Japan Gallery, in the nursing station and disabled persons' washroom in the Lounge.

Wheelchairs and strollers

Wheelchairs (2) and strollers (2) are available for lending out.
If you wish to use these facilities, please inquire at the Central Information Desk at the entrance.
Please note that these items cannot be reserved but are lent out as available.

Large folding beds

Beds large enough for adults to lie down in are located in the multi purpose restrooms on floor 2 of the Japan Gallery and floors 3,2,1,B1 and B2 of the Global Gallery.

Ostomate-friendly facilities

Available in the multipurpose restrooms on the 2nd floor of the Japan Gallery and the 1st floor of the Global Gallery (escalator side).

AED(自動体外式除細動器)アイコン
AEDs

Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are located on each floor of the Global Gallery and on floors 2 and B1 of the Japan Gallery.
*Also located in the Special Exhibition area of floor B1 of the Global Gallery.

Simple elevators for wheelchairs

Simple elevators for use with wheelchairs are located on floors 3 and B1 of the Global Gallery. Use the intercom to call for an attendant to guide you.

Audio guidance

Audio guidance to the permanent exhibits is provided in Japanese, English, Mandarin and Korean.
The guides are provided free of charge to the disabled. Persons who wish to use the audio guidance are invited to inquire at the Audio Guide/IC Card counter. Disabled visitors are asked to present their Disabled Person's Notebook or similar identification.
