Feature and Habit
The shape of their body looks robust in killer whales. The rostrum is not clearly distinguishable. The dorsal fins set the middle of the body length, which is very tall (as high as 1.8m) and triangular in males and is much smaller and curved in females. Killer whales have broad and round flippers. The black-and-white color pattern is unmistakable. They have a white patch above the eye. Tooth is very large and it’s cross-section is ovoid. Tooth count ranges 8-11 in each tooth row. They often come near coastal areas. Killer whales tend to be far more social than other whales and are in maternal pods of 10 to 40 whales.
