| Feature and Habit |

| The forehead is rounded and the head is beakless. Finless porpoises have no dorsal fin, but have a ridge along the mid dorsal line, with scattered small keratinous tubercles. The flippers are relatively large. The body color of newborns look very dark gray, as they grow up, it becomes lighter. Tooth count ranges 15-19 in each tooth row. Finless porpoises inhabit in coastal waters shallower than 50m where bottom is sandy. They are single or in small pods of several porpoises. |
