Science and Engineering Collection Building

Overview

At the northeast corner of the Tsukuba Botanical Garden are Science and Engineering Collection Buildings 1 and 2, which house materials related to science and technology. Because science and engineering materials vary widely in size, material, and shape, the floors in both collection buildings are designed to support heavy items.
In particular, Collection Building 1 features a two-story atrium to accommodate large materials such as cars and generators, and its elevator can carry loads of over two tons.
The temperature and humidity on each floor can also be adjusted to suit the stored materials.
