Guide to Using the Library

Open Hours 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (reading reception hours are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.)
Closed Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and year-end/New Year holiday
Reading and Borrowing

The Library is a closed-shelf library. The books and periodicals in the Reference Room are available to read at any time. For the books and periodicals in the stacks, please ask a staff member for assistance.
Please note that books other than those in the Reference Room are not normally lent out. They are for Museum employees only.

Photocopying
PurposePhotocopying is available for academic research purposes only. For certain rare volumes, photocopying may not be available.

Photocopying reception hours9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
ReceptionTo peruse books from the stacks, visitors are asked to fill out the dedicated request form at the counter. For requests by postal service, facsimile or e-mail, please confirm that the book or periodical is in our collection at the link below, then submit the request.

Up to five books or periodicals may be requested in a single request. (Additional time may be required for books and periodicals about botany, as these volumes are at another location.)
