Overview

Since the 2022 academic year (Reiwa 4), our institution has collaborated with Chiba University to provide research guidance to graduate students at the Graduate School of Horticultural Science, Chiba University.

Currently, one researcher from our institution is responsible for this guidance.

Plant Genetic Resource Conservation

Professor Tomohisa Yukawa

The appropriate introduction, evaluation, and management of plant genetic resources form the foundation not only of agricultural science but of all plant sciences. However, opportunities to learn this systematically are scarce. Based on insights gained through practical work at botanical gardens, we promote research and education on collection, classification, and conservation to enable the effective utilization of all plant genetic resources worldwide.
