  • Research on fungal identification and occurrence records using DNA barcoding

Yoshito Omura, Professor, School of Integrative and Global Majors, University of Tsukuba

Research Field: Lichenology Based on Taxonomy and Its Interdisciplinary Applications
  • Elucidation of lichen diversity in Japan and related Asian regions
  • Research on lichens and atmospheric environmental changes
  • Research on the evolutionary relationships among the lichen-forming symbiotic fungi and algae

Masanori Nakae, Professor, School of Integrative and Global Majors, University of Tsukuba

Research Field: Morphology, Evolution, and Diversity of Fishes
  • Verification of changes in the lateral line system of fish through successive breeding and elucidation of its mechanisms
  • Evolution and adaptation in fishes, with a focus on sensory organs (particularly the lateral line system)
