What is a bequest?
A bequest is the act of giving, through a will, part or all of one’s estate to individuals or organizations other than one’s heirs, free of charge. The National Museum of Nature and Science accepts bequests through wills, trusts, and similar arrangements.For the Future of the Natural Sciences
The museum’s activities are based on the specimens and materials it has collected. Since its founding, the museum has carefully preserved its specimens and materials, ensuring that each generation can use them for exhibitions, learning support activities, surveys, and research, while also keeping them available for future generations. The museum can introduce Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Ueno Branch, our partner trust bank.
- Donations of property to the museum through bequests may qualify for inheritance tax benefits. (For details, please consult with a trust bank or other professional.)
- In addition to trust banks, donations can also be made through commercial banks, lawyers, administrative scriveners, and other professionals.
