Discovery Talks
Discovery Talk Program
At the National Museum of Nature and Science (KAHAKU), we promote activities that emphasize dialogue between visitors and our researchers/volunteers, striving to be an approachable, welcoming museum with a visible human presence.
Q & A
"Discovery Talk" is an interpretive activity held on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays where KAHAKU researchers take turns speaking directly to visitors about the exhibits, or sharing content related to their own research.
These talks are primarily held in the Japan Gallery Lecture Hall (2F) and the Global Gallery Lecture Room (3F).

The themes and speakers for the upcoming month are announced on the Event Calendar on our website.
The talks are suitable for all ages, but the content is generally geared toward upper elementary school students and older.
Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Shorter talks, ideal for first-time attendees, are called "Light", while longer talks that include more advanced content are called "Plus".
