This year marks the 50th year since Deinonychus was named. It sparked the new look at dinosaurs, the movement called the “Dinosaur Renaissance”. In addition to the precious holotype specimens of Deinonychus, we will bring original fossils of the mysterious dinosaur Deinocheirus from the Gobi Desert and the “Mukawa-ryu” from Hokkaido, the new and most complete dinosaurs, said to be a greatest discovery in Japanese dinosaur research history. As we look back on progress in the past 50 years of dinosaur research through important specimens, we will view the current state of research as well as its near future.
