Body moderately elongate, compressed. Head large, its length 2.4-2.5 in SL. Upper jaw large, its length 5.9-6.2 in SL; lower jaw with a row of well-developed conical teeth. Interopercular margin smooth. A short U-shaped luminous gland around anus. Color: head, except for opercle, and dorsal half of trunk pinkish-red; opercle and lower half of trunk sliverywhite. Ventral muscles semitransparent. Size: maximum length 10.8 cm SL. Distribution: known only from the Andaman Sea. Remarks: all known specimens were taken by trawl; no other information on biology of the species is known.
