Tecaria pseudomontagnearum (=Phaeographina pseudomontagnearum)
is a crustose lichen growing on old Cryptomeria japonica. It is
characterized by well-developed apothecia (lirellae) with open discs, the
proper exciples carbonized only at the upper half, the brown muriform ascospores
and by the presence of echinocarpic acid as a major chemical substance.
It has been collected from 3 places: Nachi and Mt. Koya, Wakayama Pref.
and Mt. Dairyuji, Tokushima Pref.
