Brigantiaea
nipponicum (Sato) Haffellner

Brigantiaea nipponicum has a dark gray, dish-shaped apothecium
(2 mm in diameter). The thallus is thin and attaches to a tree bark and
the spores are brown and muriform. The species was once collected from Tokushima
and Kochi but recently, there are no reports of new discoveries. A large
part of its ecology and types of the substrates remain unknown.
