Head compressed; lower jaw projecting beyond upper jaw; gill opening extending anteriorly beyond a vertical through preopercular margin. Spines of first dorsal fin greatly elongate in male, not so in female; pelvic fins united medially. No scales on head; body scales cycloid. Sensory canals and pores present on head; transverse pattern of sensory-papillae rows on cheek. Color: head and body pale gray to olive, with indistinct dusky mottles and many bright blue spots; dorsal fins with many red and yellow spots. Size: 2.7 cm SL. Distri-bution: Andaman Sea. Remarks: found in seagrass beds with sandy-mud bottoms. Undescribed species, to be described by KS and U. Satapoomin.
