Body relatively slender, compressed. Posterior margin of preopercle serrate. Ventral margin of suborbital concealed by scales. A series of papilla-like structures along inner margin of posterior part of orbit. Teeth on jaws uniserial, incisor-like. Caudal fin deeply forked, with no conspicuous projecting spine-like rays at upper and lower edges of caudal-fin base. Color: head and body dark green or yellowish dorsally, pale and tinged with pink or blue ventrally. Size: 7.0 cm SL. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific. Remarks: found in coral reefs; feeds plankton in aggregation.
