Body ovate, compressed. Posterior margin of preopercle smooth. Suborbital naked, with serrate ventral free margin. Teeth on jaws biserial, incisor-like. Caudal fin emarginage, with rounded lobes; no conspicuous projecting spine-like rays at upper and lower edges of caudal-fin base. Color: head and body pale, with 2-3 black blotch on dorsum; sky blue lines and dots on head; anus black. Size: 16.0 cm SL. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, Andaman Sea and Western Pacific. Remarks: found in lagoons, shallow reefs and seagrass beds.
