MURAENIDAE Rhinomuraena quaesita (photo by Mark Strickland) Rhinomuraena quaesita Garman, 1888 Ribbon Moray V 270-286. Body extremely elongate. Distal end of anterior nostril greatly expanded. Single slender forwardprojecting barbel at front of upper jaw and 3 on lower. Teeth in single row in jaws, small, slender and slanted posteriorly. Tail much longer than head and trunk. Color: body black with yellow dorsal fin and narrow white margin in juveniles and subadults; bright blue, dorsal fin and anterior part of head yellow in males, and yellow except for black anal fin and white margin on fins in females. Size: attaining at least 130 cm. Distribution: widespread in Indo-West Pacific. Remarks: valuable for aquarium fish.
