Body elongate. Chin with 2 slender barbels. Small conical teeth on both jaws in 2 or more irregular rows. Vomer and palatines lacking teeth. Second dorsal and anal fins lacking scaled area. Color: body pale yellowish to greenish dorsally, shading to whitish or pink ventrally, with a yellow stripe edged in pale blue from eye to base of caudal fin. Size: maximum length 38 cm. Distribution: occurring throughout the Indo-Pacific region. Remarks: usually found at depths more than 15 m. (Hisashi Imamura)
