Body moderately elongate. Supraorbital and nape cirri simple (tip of former frequently bifid). Low fleshy ridge on top of head in males and frequency large females. Gill opening continuous across ventral surface of head. Dorsal fin with distinct notch. Last anal fin extending below to 10th dorsal spine. Several caudal fin rays branched. Color: body covered with round or vertically elongate greenish small spots; dorsal margin of posterior half of body and base of spinous dorsal with reddish spots; anus with dark margin; narrow black band on vertical edge of preopercle; ventral half of anal fin dusky. Size: attaining to 6 cm. Distribution: Andaman Sea and Pacific Ocean, including Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia and New Caledonia. (Hisashi Imamura)
