Body elongate. Nasal with single cirrus. Supraorbital with single cirrus, as long as eye. Single occipital crest high and conical. Single strong, sharp, recurved canine on dentary posteriorly. Dorsal fin deeply notched. Caudal fin lacking branched rays. Color: in males body brown with light brown markings; 20-22 narrow, light, vertical lines over snout and upper lip, and extending back onto lower part of cheek; dorsal fin mostly black, soft dorsal with lighter lines; anal fin lighter proximally, shading into nearly black distally; females with lighter than males. Size: attaining to about 7 cm. Distribution: restricted distribution from Andaman Sea to Indonesia. (Hisashi Imamura)
