D XII, 12-14; A II, 14-16; P1 13; V 30-32.

Body elongate. Orbital cirrus absent. Cirrus on posterior margin of anterior nostril. Gill opening continuous across ventral surface of head. Dorsal fin with deep notch. Caudal-fin rays unbranched. Color: body tinted various tones of brown; postocular stripe, opercle margin, dorsal body ocelli and abdomen laterally dark brown; other markings paler; body with pale white spots; snout suffused with pink; nape with transverse pair of dark spots. Size: attaining to 4 cm. Distribution: restricted distribution from Andaman Sea and Sumatra to Java. (Hisashi Imamura)
