BLENNIIDAE Alticus saliens, 7.7 cm SL (photo by Ukkrit Satapoomin) Alticus saliens (Lacepède, 1800) Leaping Blenny D XIV, 21-23; A II, 25-27; P1 15; P2 I, 4; V 41-42. Body elongate. Supraorbital cirrus present. No labial disk behind lower lip. Gill opening continuous across ventral surface of head. Soft rays of caudal fin unbranched. Color: body grayish, with indistinct dark grayish bands; dorsal fin with orangish band distally; anterodorsal portion of dorsal fin blackish. Size: attaining to 10 cm. Distribution: widespread in tropical Indo-West Pacific. Remarks: occurring on supralittoral zones or rocky shores. (Hisashi Imamura)
