International Phycologists collected Japanese marine algae in Kamakura
— The IPC9 Congress Tour “Kamakura” —

On the afternoon of August 5, 2009, about 70 phycologists collected many Japanese seaweeds on the beach of Kamakura. The phycologists were attendees for the International Phycological Congress (IPC9), which was held from August 2, 2009 through August 8, 2009 in Yoyogi, Tokyo. They made several sheets of algal dried specimens in the schoolhouse of Shichirigahama High School in front of the beach of Kamakura.
