If you cannot log in
If you cannot log into the descriptions of the permanent exhibits, confirm the following items.

1. User name and password

  • Enter the user name and password using single-byte, alphanumeric characters. Check the case of the letters (case-sensitive).

2. Browser version and security settings

  • Your browser should conform to one of the following (we recommend downloading the latest version of your browser):
    ·Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0
    ·Netscape 7.1
    ·On Mac OS: OS 10/Browser: Safari 1.2
    *Set your browser to accept cookies and use JavaScript.
  • In some cases changing your browser's security settings may prevent you from logging in.

3. Firewall and proxy server settings

  • If you are logging in from work, your firewall or proxy settings may prevent you from logging in. Consult with your network administrator.

4. Pop-up blocking feature

  • In the descriptions of the permanent exhibits, the pop-up blocking features of Internet Explorer 6 (WindowsXP Service Pack 2), Opera, Mozilla, Netscape and other browsers may prevent you from logging in. Change the settings for this feature to permit viewing of the site.

5. While registration is pending

  • ID registration may take some time. In this case, a registration window appears. While registration is pending you can view the descriptions of the permanent exhibitions as normal. If registration is not complete within three days, contact our network administrator at webmaster@kahaku.go.jp.
    *Please note that if you lose your ID card you will not be able to log in.
