Feature and Habit
Beak is slender and long. Dorsal fin is high and curved.The flippers are pointed at the tip.In young animals, they are unspotted.Body color is dark gray dorsally and light gray ventrally. Dark spots appear on the ventral side in adults, and they increase as the animal grows older. Light spots appear on the dorsal cape and the flank in adults.The upper side of the caudal is dark gray and the lower side is gray white.Appearance of the spots and the stripe between the flippers and the eyes is highly variable among the populations. Number of vertevrae is about 80. Tooth count(ranges) is 35-48 in each upper jaw and 34-37 in each lower jaw. The stock that inhabitant in offshore waters is in large pods of over one thousand dolphins.The stock that inhabit near the shore is in pods of few dolphins than them.
